This post is not a testimony of my faith; I am simply sharing how I find one of the most important things to me in my life.
As a 15 year old girl, I am starting to have a better understanding of my faith and how it applies to my life. Although I am still very young and there is so much more for me to discover concerning both my faith and other aspects of my life, I recognize that my interpretation of my beliefs is something that is going to drive my ambitions and decisions both in the present and the future.
I have been blessed to call my Presbyterian church (PCUSA) home ever since I was born. Being a part of this church has given me lifelong friendships and experiences that I will hold in my heart for as long as I live. It has also taught me that my relationship with God is something that nothing else can compare to; for God’s love is without boundaries.
I find my faith in experiences: swim team dinners after a long meet, Saturday morning brunches spent with friends, and being a part of something greater than myself. I find my faith in people: the ones I love, my church family, my team, and strangers in the hallways. I find my faith in creation: the birds that sing to me, the wind that blows through my hair, and the sun that rises with courage every morning. I find my faith in sounds: undying laughter, beautiful music, and leaves crunching under my feet. I find my faith in feelings: accomplishment, comfort, and even the indescribable sensations.
To me, God is all-encompassing. This greater deity loves and cares for me unconditionally despite my flaws. God is beautiful, omnipresent, and all-knowing. And my God loves both you and me.
Love, Valerie x
